Pushing Past The Wall

Have you ever hit a wall? It could be working out, it could be making investments, it could be something entirely different.
I was working out the other day with a trainer. I was winded. I was gassed. He was pushing me to fight through the pain and take action any way. Mentally it was tough. I wanted to catch my breath. I want more rest. I wanted more certainty that I could do the next exercise whatever that was.
It was funny because when I thought about it, I realized he was giving me the same advice that I have given others related to real estate investing. After the education, books, podcasts, conferences, etc, at some point you need to take action even if you aren’t 100% prepared. Even if you are not 100% confident. Even if you don’t have 100% of the information you would like to have at your fingertips.
Now someone else was telling me to push even though I was tired, exhausted, and wanted rest.
When I think about this moment working out and past moments/decision points with investment decisions, what I’ve come to realize is that you can push that wall out further. What I used to be scared of three years ago, I’m not scared of now but there are new walls, new challenges. The same goes when working out. Where I hit a wall a month ago is different from where I hit a wall now.
Progress. Yes progress. That’s what we are all searching for. When we have progress, what used to be hard is now easy and we have a new mountain, a new obstacle to overcome.
Why do I share this story with you?
I share this because I want to give you encouragement to push past the fear and push past your current wall. Yes there will be a new wall that comes up but you will have achieved progress and what used to be hard will be easy.
